birth & postpartum doula,
lactation educator
stella wren ramosMy name is Stella (she/her) and I’m a Birth and Postpartum Doula and Lactation Educator in Los Angeles, California with strong ties to Washington State. I am eager to support you with evidence-based information, intuitive decision-making, bodily comfort, nervous system co-regulation, and tenderness throughout your pregnancy, labor, birth, and postpartum.
Trauma informed and judgement free, my role is to provide psychological, educational, and physical support while advocating for your needs and desires throughout any aspect of your prenatal, labor + birth, postpartum, or lactation-related experiences.
I have an enduring personal history in birth-work and movement/dance, and a strong belief that birthing people deserve the care, information, and support they desire. I am passionate about this work, and eager to assist you in getting the resources you need, whether that be working with me or providing sufficient referrals.
<3 As a queer person, I am eager to support queer, trans, and gender non-conforming families through their pregnancy, birthing, and postpartum journies. <3
Some things I like are writing poetry and reading books, going outside and laying in the sun like a lizard, trying a new craft, listening to Britney Spears, baking something and putting cardamom in it, learning about ecology and religious philosophies, making lists, going to estate sales, being kind to strangers, and looking at the stars when camping.

philosophy
(1) informed intuition: I support you in making decisions that honor both evidence-based information and your body's innate wisdom and intuition.(2) trauma-informed care: I approach each family with sensitivity to past experiences and the compounding effects trauma + oppression have on our bodies, minds, and souls while creating a safe, judgment-free space for healing and empowerment.
(3) embodied support: Through somatic practices, breathwork, and nervous system regulation, I help you stay connected to your body's natural rhythms and find comfort.
(4) inclusive advocacy: I am committed to supporting all types of family structures and working for those impacted by historical structures of violence and oppression, epsecially within the medical and hospital systems. I am committed to contributing to a version of full-spectrum birthing care where health outcomes are not determined by race, gender, class, body size, sexuality, or ability.
(5) whole-person care: I recognize that your birth experience is part of your larger life story and can’t be seperated from what makes you a human being, including your histories and fears as well as your hopes + dreams.
